Wonderful fine quality steel-line engraved print by W. H. Bartlett. Circa. 1840.

Incredibly detailed antique steel engraving shows Barhydts Lake, a small lake near Saratoga Springs (This lake on the grounds of Yaddo.) There are two men in a small rowing boat in the lake. The lake is calm surrounded by tall, bushy trees. The sky is clear except for a few small, thick white clouds. The engraving is 10 3/4" X 8 1/4". Very slight foxing / browning around the edges.

Engraving shows the Wilkesbarre (Vale of Wyoming). The main focus of the picture is a wide lake, each side covered with small, bushy trees. In the distance a bridge crosses over. On the lake boats are sailing and ripples gather at the edges. At the fore of the picture a group of people stand on a lane high up. They look across admiring the view. Print size 10 3/4" X 8 1/4". Very slight foxing/browning around the edges.

Fine quality steel line engraving published by Geo. Virtue. London. 1840. Engraved by R. Wallis after the original by W. H. Bartlett. This incredibly detailed antique steel engraving shows the view from Glenmary Lawn. The lake is elongated from this perspective where large trees close overhead making this an engaging intimate engraving. Left of the lake a lone guardsman seems reflective in the space. The engraving is 10 3/4" X 8 1/4".

Good condition with some foxing / browning around the edges and at the bottom on the title which does not impair the picture.
