Delightful engraving of the costume of the inhabitants of Chili. Costumes are fine, with men are wearing long jackets and buckled shoes. Behind them the sea with rowing boats and in the distance ships sailing. Print size 10 1/4" x 8". Some foxing around the edges and to the bottom of the engraving with a couple of patches of very pale foxing on the actual engraving.

This interesting hand coloured print of a bishop, countess, judge and earl in period costumes. Printing is slightly off center.

Wonderful hand colored print. Circa. 1870.

This print shows four very well dressed people two of which are men and the other women. From what they are wearing it is easy to see that they are rich and also royal. In the background there is a bay view window which shows the lovely view of a pink sky and lots of hill top mountains. Near the window there is a huge painting which is in a really nicely decorated frame. There is a lady wearing lots of yellow and is sitting on a green velvet chair. playing on a fancy piano. The man stood next to her is stood up smartly wearing a long brown shawl. and a fancy feathered hat. The women next to him is wearing multi colored dress with a shawl around her shoulders. She is also holding a fancy feathered fan in her left hand. The last person is a man sat down in a deep green velvet chair he has got very smart deep purple clothes on and is sat upright playing an old fashioned instrument called a lute.

There are two people behind a table. one being the judge and another being a gentleman. the judge is looking hard at a scroll and is wearing very posh. rich clothes. Which consist of a drape that hangs down to the floor and a gown underneath it. This shows a sign of respect and power. The gentleman next to him in wearing black tight leggins that tuck into his shoes and a tight. blue. long sleeved top. He is also wearing a red hat. There is a lady of rank at the other side of the table and she is wearing a blue corset gown and she is about to sign a scroll with a feather ink pen. She doesnt look very happy. The man next to her is called the courtier. He frowns at her and is holding his arms up. there is a deep red velvet shawl hanging over his arms and shoulders. There is a deep purple velvet chair next to him and sitting in the chair is an old women who is classified as a lady of quality. She is smothered in a huge black gown. Some foxing and staining.
