London water colour artist, John Frederick Herring exhibited from 1818-1868 with 22 entries to the Royal Academy. This stunning set of original water colours date from the 1830's and have the early marks and notations on the back of the un-opened frames to show their long history in these fine frames. The paintings are framed in period frames (see image) and the verso label shows details of Victorian auction sales - a charming historical reference. The water colour /gouaches are approx. 11.5cm x 19.5cm with the frames measuring 27cm x 34.5cm. Very Good + condition
