African Maps

Intersting hand coloured map titled Africa Septentrionalis. 1841.

The scales of the map are shown possibly in Latin - Schreni Minores .Milliaria Romana. Schreni Egyptiaci 60 and Stadia Olympica. The size of the map is 10 3/4" x 13 1/2". There is slight foxing and soiling to the map with a small tear to the bottom left corner of the map approx 1/2 cm. There is some water colour paint staining to the right edge of the map.

Very Good - condition.

Interesting and detailed coloured map titled Africa. North-East. circa 1895.

The size of the map is 22 x 16 inches. The corners on the map are bumped with very slight loss and there is slight foxing to the edges of the map. There is also a small hole is the middle of the map approx 1/4inch. The map of Africa has a smaller map of the East of Africa. The scale of the map are shown in English Miles.

There is also a small tear at the top middle of the map approx 1 inch. The map of Africa has a smaller map of the Cape Verd Islands. The scale of the map are shown in English Miles.

Interesting coloured map of Africa. 1841.

The map shows the scale in Geographical & English Miles. The page size is 26.5cm x 33.7cm and the map 23.8cm x 27.7cm. This map has contemporary colouring. Some minor foxing and very small tear to edge. One corner has worn away. The top edge is tightly cropped but still just about mountable.

Original colour map of Nile from the Ninth edition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica. Map size 24cm x 17.6cm plus good margins all round. Some foxing / brown spots.

Original colour map of Tripoli and Tunis. Scale is in statute miles. Map size 23.1cm x 16.9cm with the whole page measuring 27cm x 21cm. Some slight foxing mostly to the margins. Source, 9th edition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica.
